I'm sure that's what he meant. It was maybe autocorrect on a phone.
I think knowing his HR at the end of the 400 would have been more useful. He was maybe dropping to 140 after the minute rest, and then getting up to 180 by the end of the 400. I doubt he was at ~160 at the end of the 400 but who knows for sure.

Correct.
What I really wanted was the lactate levels? No one knows them correct? I was trying to see if I could enlarge the monitor and figure it out but don't think they ever showed it or talked about it.
I should hope he is relaxed - in his base, after doing a morning session of 2k LT, he would do 25 x 400 in 63-64 (30sec rec). So 12 x 61 to 63 should be a walk in the park with 60sec rec.
I agree that the paces he was hitting seemed slightly slower than I would expect from a 3:43 miler. He also stated, “That was pretty tough” after the 400s. The 200s looked good, but even someone out of shape can crush 10x200m.

He seemed to purposely conceal those results. It must have been pre discussed that he did not want to say what his lactate numbers were. If I were Jakob, I’d keep that hidden as well.
I’m disappointed with the questions. I would love to hear about his injury and how far it set him back. What is “high mileage” for him? When will he step up to the 10k? etc.

Not sure about the injury but he has spoken to everything else in interviews. He runs higher mileage October through May and reduces it during the remaining four months, though it’s still relatively high, especially at points when there are several weeks between races. Peak mileage ~120 (180-195km was the range he gave). He has made it clear he will not run the 10k until he can no longer compete in the 15, and it sounds like he believes that is still 5+ years in the future.
If you want to listen for yourself, his interview after Euro XC 2022 has some good info. I believe he also talked a bit about training in his interviews after the Paris 2 mile and Eugene 3k.

What a stupid comment. For real! That is a new low on LRC. You realize he's at 7000 feet right? Holy crap tell us you don't know anything about distance running without telling us you don't know anything about distance running.
This workout filmed by Flotrack shows Jakob doing 12x400 (60sec) then 10x200 (200 jog) in Flagstaff before pre classic this Sunday. He was doing the 400s between 61 high to 63 and his he was decently low. He also states that the total volume for the day was 30k.
He also gives us some incite into racing and other parts of running. Definitely a must watch
Finally Flotrack giving us some decent content FOR FREE!!!
