Median would be a more accurate assessment although America is always overweight. Too many 300+ pound mentally ill and coping with addictive food skew the average.
We like to think of Ethiopians and Kenyan runners as super skinny when in reality they are just close to the average for their regions. Americans is just fat.
Couldn't you say the same of Americans? Not far just close to the average for their region.
Your world is so crazy it is surprising you've survived long enough to type out that drivel.
If more kids threw out their lunches, then they got a bit fitter. Other countries manage to give their children healthy school lunches. You have to get buy-in from the whole community. Republicans have done everything they could to make our whole society as obese as Southerners by subsidizing "corn sugar," opposing public transportation, opposing healthy food in school, opposing public athletic facilities and parks, subsidizing cars, oil, and roads, subsidizing fast food restaurants, and opposing sports and PE funding for schools.
My wife is around 170, but a good 70 pounds of that are in her rear and boobs. She's actually quite slender overall.
whatever you need to tell yourself to sleep at night. 170 is morbidly obese and you need to put her on a proper diet before she gets hardened arteries and racks up some serious medical debt in her late 30s/early 40s. as a vascular surgeon i've seen it happen.
In 2012, BMC Public Health reported the following average weights by region. The averages were calculated using data from 2005, and relied on combined statistics for men and women: North America: 177.9 pounds Oceania, including Australia: 163.4 pounds Europe: 156.1 pounds Latin America/Caribbean: 149.7 pounds Africa: 133.8 pounds Asia: 127.2 pounds
The numbers are not as bad as they look. That is mean and distribution is not normal distribution. A small number of 1000 pound U.S. men and a small number of 600 pound U.S. women mess up the stats.
