Note from Rojo on 5/30: We are going to lock this thread to new posts and direct everyone to the new thread as I think it's not fair to ask newcomers to this controversy to read through all 8 pages. The new thread has a good summary. Here it is:
Stenson's Coach, Adam Didyk is a renowned cry baby, he'll be protesting in a nasty, disrespectful manner. He is the laughing stock of the sport.
I doubt it. All the women are on friendly terms. Any appeal will simply involve putting their case forward in the hope of changing the selectors mind. There will be no nastiness from coach or athlete.
How would one evaluate a Daegu course time against Osaka or Valencia? I think there is enough extra elevation in that to says Jess's time is better than others at Valencia or Osaka, apart from diver's 2022 Valencia. I would say the team is likely Jess, Gen and Sinead.

Well the others weren't in that race, and nobody forced Jess to chase the big prizemoney. I'd say you're a Didyk shill, and you know exactly which team was picked and the bulldust narrative to justify the athletics australia employees getting their athletes selected.
I have no idea who got selected, I'm just trying to logically figure it out as you can't just take the 3 fastest times due to varying race conditions. I think Jess's comm game gold (although technically irrelevant) and decent Daegu time merits selection as 1st or second option at Paris and will likely be Australia's best result in Paris. Diver has the best time by far in the selection period so hard to discount that although on a fast course which won't be like Paris. And with Gen being the first Aussie at Valencia 2023 against the other hopefuls really helps her case.

You come on here talking about Didyk being a nasty, disrespectful crybaby and then proceed to exhibit that exact behaviour.
Inside running last night mentioned the three selected aren't the fasted three. Jess would be the inclusion. All under legal appeals obviously..... Lisa the unlucky one? Tough call...

Patreon episode? It would be a disaster if Lisa wasn’t on the team. All are supremely talented and deserve a spot but I’d pick her over any of the others, simply based on pure consistency.
She’ll get the Aussie record if she goes to Valencia again.

Patreon early release-- everywhere tomorrow. It's in Brady's whispers....
Under no circumstances should Lisa miss out. She has run more qualifying times in the window than anyone else, run 16th at the Worlds, 2:24 in Valencia with Covid ... and if selected would be the first to represent Australia, (Male or Female) in 5x Olympics for Athletics. Not only should Lisa Weightman be selected ... she should be flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
Yep, I agree. I think it's harder for Lisa too without a strong internal AA advocate. Do Didyk, Bideau bring sway for their athletes or are the panels totally independent?
On paper Sinead is way above...but 2022 is a long time ago. She's incredible...but she was 45 when she ran that. 47 now- at some point that hits?
Gen's only run two marathons, both flat as a tack. So less experienced on a tough day. But she's a competitor and will prepare well in the QLD heat.
To be honest- if you lined up the four Jess, Sinead, Lisa, Gen (I'm not counting Izzy and Elzy here as I'm assuming they aren't in these final conversations) in Paris. I'd bet good money on Jess being our #1 or 2. BUT is it fair to pick her on an expectation rather than what was done in the qual period??
Everyone knows Lisa deserves to be first pick. Sinead should be selected after proof of race fitness. Gen a bit fortunate to scrape in ahead of Jess, who got greedy chasing Daegu dollars.
The puppet masters pulling Shaun's strings as usual. Such a disappointing member of the athletics community.
