Ahhhh, evokes memories of the old days when a certain former top athlete was serving as Nike rep in Oz and would charge the athletes for the shoes that were shipped to them from the states. Prototypes and new stuff was "lost" and replaced with crap that the athletes then had to pay for. This was 25 years ago and certainly couldn't be going on today!!!!??

The orange/white version is the mid-distance version of the zoom shift. Mottram has the zoom shift LD on.
Speaking of which, if anyone has the MD (orange) version of the zoom shift or knows where to find one, sz 9.5 gimme a shout.
I've run in the LD and wasn't too impressed...the MD just seems like a far superior spike, anyone run in them or used to run in them?
your mistaken, garfield. he's wearing the original zoom shift, just in it's third release where it was red/white/yellow, the 1st being blue/white/black, and the 2nd yellow/purple. same 8 spike plate though. awesome shoes.
the zoom shift ld were the white one's with the eldoret plate, they were ok but like you said not very impressive. the shift md were the orange ones. i never wore those, because they looked heavy so i can't comment on those.
Ray, do you live in WA?
The orange/white version of the Shift's were the updated model from the teal/blue. The spike plate for the orange/white ones is identical to the JSC's (Mike Johnson's black and gold suede sprinters), and the newer Maxcat. The old blue/teal ones are much heavier, and the upper is very stiff compared to the orange/white ones. I have seen Mottram wearing the older blue/teal ones, and I have seen Bekele wearing the newer orange/white ones. Not sure why either of them would want to wear middle-rung spikes, but the orange/white ones are much more reasonable than the blue/teal. Mottram must really like them.
