Cooper Teare's 3:32.16 places a restriction on Olympic Trials qualifiers in whatever event(s) he chooses to run. If you cannot beat him at 1500 you cannot beat him at 5000 or 10000.

And those definitions aren't applicable. His time does not prevent anyone from running faster. His time doesn't guarantee he will run that fast in the trials.

If you are a Cooper fan, you have a right to be hopeful. But no one is curtailed by his time in a give race so far.

It doesnt prevent them from running that fast, they just physically cannot run that fast.

Even if true, it isn't guaranteed that Cooper will run that fast at the trials, where there will be heats and the prospect of jostling and various tactics.
