sports are entertainment. i know we like to pretend they matter, but they do not. when the sport is not entertaining, the public tunes out.
by having our sport dominated by foreign, nameless, generic east africans the sport is only marketable to east africans... we should not be surprised when everyone tunes out and watches something else. there is no "story" that grabs the american public if there are no americans involved in the race.
