When I was younger and naive I believed that I had way more talent than I did. I thought that someday reporters would be asking me questions after a race. I remember thinking I'd never want to talk to Letsrun. Now I'm older and no reporter has ever asked me a question after a race. Actually that's not true, I got interviewed by the local paper for a 3rd place finish in a tiny turkey trot.
Anyway, now I probably would speak to Letsrun. They're the only outlet I can think of that would publish my ramblings about everything wrong with the track media-sphere. How it's so incestual and such a tiny community. How every interview is just, "I went out there and did my best," or, "Today just wasn't my day." How athletes like Shelby weren't mocked so mercilessly on every outlet for their childish excuses that their bodies left their souls. Reporters and content creators don't need to be mean to athletes, but it so often feels like you better stay on their good side, or Nike will slap you on the wrist and cut your access.
