He is not. Nor is Klecker or Woody. This is hard for folks like you.
#4 on the All-time US Indoor "Short Track" List
1) Kincaid 12:51.61 (Jan 27, 2023)
2) Fisher 12:53.73 (Feb 12,2022)
3) Klecker 12:54.99 (Jan 27, 2023)
4) Young 12:57.14 (Jan 26, 2024)
LRC goes home devastated.
How is this possible? I read here that Mike Smith failed Nico Young. That altitude training doesn’t work. That altitude conversions aren’t accurate. That Nico Young’s workout wasn’t impressive.
PLEASE!!!!
He’s a sub 3:50 miler with a distance background. He should take down the American Record indoor and outdoor in the next couple years.
I can’t believe that he is still getting outkicked.
He needs a 26 close off a fast pace.
He still has 5 months to work on that

This is false information. Please stop.
Dude, you are high!
He beat Colin by 6 seconds at altitude. Do you really need more convicing?

He gets outkicked just like Klecker. They lack the speed to be 3:50 milers. This is obvious.
I still remember a few years ago when Tyler Day set the American collegiate indoor record with a 13:16 at BU. Now the record is in a complete different, world-class tier at 12:57... Nico Young is panning out!
Colin ran 3:53.17 after 4:03, six seconds behind Nico's 3:57 at 7000 ft. How can you possibly believe that Nico Young is not at least a 3:50 miler himself (like Rupp, 3:50/12:58). I would not be at all surprised by 3:48 after that workout and altitude mile, and this validates that.
Kick? You need a kick? When has that been a requirement? Kicks win races; they don't give you times under 3:50. But a superior VO2 engine does. He is easily a sub-3:50 miler at this very moment!

That is not how it works. Please educate yourself. Rupp wasn’t a 3:50 miler either. He could only do it indoors. Outdoors he couldn’t.
Faster than Rupp
It’ll be interesting how he finds a way to lose nationals this time, ya know?
that did not and well 😂😂😂

Nico will NEVER break 3:50 for the mile. It is not possible for him. I am sorry so many of you cannot grasp this.
