Teaching (elementary school) has to be the most fluff, padded, fake job I've ever seen in my life. None of the teachers in my friend circle could last 12 months in a competitive just stressed business or engineering setting.
I wonder where those business people and engineers would be without elementary school teachers.

Doesn't teaching have a much higher dropout rate than either of those two professions?
Humanities and social sciences is full of it, though there are exceptions like linguistics and sub-fields of other disciplines...
Possibly off topic here, but when one can "fake it" without a real degree, one begins to ponder the legitimany of the field. In this case, a Colorado woman conned her way into well-paying government gig(s) by listing a fake degree. and nobody noticed. for YEARS.
In addition to using her state psychology license to qualify for court appointments on child custody cases, McShane also gained employment as a psychologist candidate at the Colorado Department of Corrections from January 2018 to February 2021, with a final annual salary there of $84,468. She also worked as a psychologist from January 2018 to June 2023 at the state hospital in Pueblo for the criminally insane, with a final salary there of $97,224.
Furthermore, the father in the custody battle who invested the conwoman did what a government agency failed to do. Apparently, the state contracts with an outside agency to verify credentials: you have one job. Literally.
Shannon McShane, a former Colorado parental evaluator, has been indicted on 15 counts of felony charges for falsely claiming to have a doctorate in psychology and targeting a father who
Architect/design speak has to be some of the biggest rubbish ever spoken or written.
For example, ‘tectonic visualisation’. What the heck does this mean?
They seem to make up combinations of archaic words in an attempt to befuddle and confuse people into somehow being impressed by the rubbish they speak. If you can’t understand what they are saying, it must be because they are experts right?
It’s more archaic than early 20th century legalese and is sometimes up there with James Joyce’s “Finnegan’s Wake”.
What other professions speak rubbish? Comments on archispeak are also welcome.
How about actors when they are interviewed on a serious platform?
“a certain gravitas”,
“she acted in a an intellectually carefree ideom”,
“The role deeply affected the nerve center of my psyche “
I just say psychology b/c I'm critical of a profession where a person can fake it for years without completing the proper degree or internship(s). Plus, over time the criteria for mental illnesses changes. DSM-V is the latest standard, which will just change again. And one professional can label a person with one disorder, and then next clinician disagrees. Too much subjectivity.

For gibberish type terms I'd say some aspects of business seem to have a lot, like 'nimble', 'pivot' and so on.
In academia I'm sorry but in my experience the person who said social sciences earlier in the thread was quite close to the mark. Personally I heard a lot of waffle from people in that area, although there were some standout people as well. Also a lot of waffle in anthropology.
