Douchy as this guy looks, he’s got a point. Real-world gossiping is one thing, but systematically maligning a man on a website where he doesn’t have a voice does seem unfair, but maybe this is the world going forward.
"Malign" implies that they are making false statements about him. Why do you assume they are lying? Do you really think 30 women got together and agreed to sh*t on this guy for no reason?
I doubt it was for no reason. That said, women do stick together and support one another (publicly at least) far better than men. It’s entirely possible they are piling on in a way that is grossly unfair.
Of course I didn’t read the article, as I won’t give The Man my email address. Maybe the guy is a Pervy McPerv.

This is interesting: When I was a manager for a very large corporation we were not allowed to say anything negative about a former employee if we got a call for a reference.
We could state facts- they were late this many times (and it had to be documented).
Any "opinion" was opinion and subject to a possible lawsuit.
I couldn't say- this job requires someone to be outgoing and they were very quiet.
Or, they didn't move fast enough to do the job.
Maybe his dates can say- he made me split the bill for dinner and the dinner was at a small diner. He tipped 10%. But NOT- he was too cheap to pay, he brought me to a greasy spoon restaurant and he's a lousy tipper.

The problem is that an opinion can exaggerate something or bring in your own biases. Every place I have worked we were told the same thing about references and often recommended that HR handle them.
