Grant Fisher medals in 10k. There will be extreme weather and a few hours of delay. He runs in the pack for the first 5k, and fades in 6-7 k, then picks off runners in the last 2 k to secure bronze or silver.
Not a bold prediction when you are ranked #2 in the US in the 1500 and #3 in the 800. A bold prediction may be Wiley making the team in BOTH the 800 and 1500. Last time an American woman did that was Kim Gallagher in 1988.
Incidentally, Gallagher made her first Olympic team at age 20 ... same age Wiley is now.

Wiley has a good chance to make it in the 1500. I don't see her making the team in the 800.
That said, just because she had the 2nd fastest time in the 1500 by a US woman does not mean that she is ranked 2nd. There is more to ranking than times. Due to her 5th place at the USATF Championships she almost assuredly is not ranked #2.

Good call for Fisher to medal. I believe he can medal in the 5k as well. His 3k times show his ability to run a very fast pace.
Anticipating he will run some indoor races to see where he is at. Looking for him to run very fast indoors and make the outdoor 10k standard early in the year so he can focus on Paris.
Using knowledge gained as to what works for him and areas for improvement that he can incorporate into his own training plan without having the one size fits all approach from Jerry.
He has way more versatility now with his training, locations for training, who he trains with, and his racing schedule.
In spite of someone being corrected for it at least once a week, posters will continue to type:
"I have ran" instead of "I have run"
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. Here's the grammar rule, folks. When the auxiliary verbs "have" or "had" appear before the verb "run", the proper grammar is ALWAYS have run or had run, never have ran or had ran.
As wejo mentioned in the first post, "These aren't things that are likely to happen but are pretty far out there but fathomable."
Even though he butchered that sentence, we get the gist.
If the schedule is amendable to Syd running the 400 & 400h, a triple gold seems pretty feasible.
I stand by this as less than 25% chance. First, it’s a stretch that she even attempts it. Second, Miller Uibo and Paulino are as good or better at the 400M. Third, she will have to run rounds every single day.
Not bold enough? Rupp makes the US team and medal in the marathon.
We did our Bold Predictions on the podcast this week and I want to hear yours. These aren't things that are likely to happen but are pretty far out there but fathomable.
Last year I predicted Sha'Carri would win World 100m gold.
Post them here or leave us a voicemail. The next voicemail used on the pod will get a free pair of shoes.
