Still love the 1st three records but their latest one plus Win Butler's recent antics are starting to drag down my enjoyment of the whole catalog. Would welcome the band splitting up at this point.

Death of irony

There was another running website. I was there in the early aughts. I enjoyed it up to about 2015 and then the whole site went to sht. They banned or chased off any poster who didn't agree with the hive mind. Part of the reason I found Letsrun about two years ago was that I was done with the other site.

Back about 10 years ago that other website was still thriving, but now it has about 20 active posters left. They brought this on themselves. I think they're happy as long as the place is an echo chamber. Problem is, now it's boring as hell there. They chased off most of the interesting people.

When I was single I used to like karaoke. But it was more of an excuse for everyone to get drunk.

Looking back, I used to have more of a red-pilled/incel mentality around my college years back before those terms were a thing. Glad I grew out of that - it’s extremely “cringe” seeing modern guys with the entitled, victimized, girls-just-don’t-like-nice-guys mentality.

I voted for a couple Democrats back in the day.

Arcade Fire is the Alan Webb of music. It’s either “this is the best album in the world this year,” or “WTF did I just listen to?” Nothing in between. My old car had a single disc CD player, and The Suburbs was the only album in the deck for a solid year. Their newer stuff gets an immediate skip when it comes on my Apple Music.
