I've had several posts about Wiley that only had upvotes for the first hour the post was live. Then all of a sudden in a matter of a few minutes, the post gets 10 to 15 downvotes.

There is obviously someone who is opposed to any negative posts about Wiley or Huntington who is using multiple IP addresses to bulk downvote posts.

I assume the OP is the very same person who wrote a lengthy "defense" in a subsequently locked thread on the subject. Just lies piled on lies. He even tried to argue that the weird injection program Nick was running was an official USOC program, which is just bs that Nick told his athletes to justify what he was doing.

Please. This is a person with a vpn or ip scrambler. Not hard to do if you have the inclination. That is why every thread on the subject gets the mass autodeletes.

This board is full of hypocrites. Wiley has never failed a drug test and is innocent until proved guilty. I believe she is clean. She will make the Olympic team this year and she will pass every test. Valby and Tuohy will not be on the team.

I think Wiley and Valby will both make the team. Wiley can choose between the 800 or 1500. I think Valby will finish 3rd in the 5000 and Tuohy will finish 9th. The Tuohy crowd will accuse Wiley of doping and they will pick apart Valby's training and they will have a stuoid excuse as to why Tuohy wasn't close. Bookmark this post.

Not the way it works. Too many red flags to ignore. The testing simply is not adequate and PEDs not detectable enough to ever confidently equate not failing a test with being clean. Armstrong passed over 500 doping tests. Houlihan passed 180 before being caught despite AIU targeting her. Jones never officially failed a doping test as a pro runner, although she eventually got caught in the Balco dragnet and appears to have started doping in high school. Endurance athletes who later confessed like Rasmussen never got caught for over a decade despite taking every substance under the sun. If you choose to associate with very shady characters, you get dragged down with them.

To be clear, it is mainly rojo's actions that I take exception with. So, by "you", most of the time I mean Letsrun as a whole or specifically Rojo.

Wejo, on one thread you make the statement that porn shouldn't be allowed to be posted for the community (which I agree with), but then here you are defending the child porn that you put on your site that involves one of the running community's brightest up and comers. Perhaps at first, it was just very unthoughtful mistake. But, at this point, how can you not see that it is part of your campaign to destroy.

I share your opinion about distancing from the Johnsons and Huntington (at least physically) and how that would (will) be favorable for her (running and public perception-wise). However, how can you not see that there are other considerations (her age, where she grew up, family, not to mention simply working through the issues) that makes her situation much different than a pro who was with Salazar but decided to leave. She should be (or have been) afforded time and space before getting railed on. Or, maybe she should not get railed on at all unless testing positive, and she could be treated just like everyone else and viewed with a bit of suspicion. Of course, you know this, but the snuff-her-career-campaign includes voicing how you've contacted potential sponsors, reached out to other high profile runners about her, and talked with the FBI (which is super strange, but that was in rojo's comments last Friday evening that have since been removed).

You are certainly allowed to have your personal opinions (and you (Wejo) are able to voice yours much more diplomatically), but you really should consider your position and status in the running community and on this forum. You are not just any other commenter. You should be 100% certain of things before speaking, or at least make it clear every time when a comment is just your opinion, but something you really don't know.

Sure, throw Nick to the wolves to get all that he deserves (I agree), but then you yourself concede that it may not be fair or ideal of "some people" (ie. you) to seek and destroy anything or anyone associated with him. "Oh wells," you say, "that is how it works." Really!? You don't have an issue with that? If so, you are not close to believing in any "redemption".

Yes, the Wiley threads could be moderated much better so that they don't always go sideways, but the reason they do (outside of moderation) is primarily due to how you've handled this. You implicitly suggest (by the things mentioned above) that you agree (while using a thin veneer of plausible deniability) with trashing Wiley unless she moves somewhere else yesterday. It's not really the fault of the detractors (imo) for dutifully following your lead. At this point, thanks largely to Letsrun, I am very doubtful that her career can ever be fully rehabbed regardless of how she runs, what she does, how clean she may be, or who she actually is as a person. Letsrun has done a great job of doing what it can to define AW in an extraordinarily negative light with assumptions, inuendo, etc despite very little of the problems in Huntington being her fault.

You cannot associate with coaches like Nick Johnson and not be negatively affected. Have you ever seen investigation reports and allegations like this outside of something like Balco? It makes you radioactive. The amount of damning information about Nick Johnson and his practices is insane even disregarding the even worse criminal behavior. If said athlete is truly such a magical natural talent, then she needs to disassociate. Period.

It's curious to me the campaign of a small group of people to legitimize Wiley. I don't know who is pushing it or why, but it's pretty clearly not organic.

Wejo is right here, she has surrounded herself with a fairly unsavory character who is a known user of drugs and learned the ways of one of the most vilified coaches ever. She will be tainted until she has no associations with them. It's clear this is a widely held view. Her unreal times get glossed over. The whole thing is weird. Stay at a random NAIA school that has no institutional control over their athletics, surround herself with villains, then randomly show up in Europe and run these unreal times?? It's sad to watch. Even more sad to see the people in here pushing and pushing to ignore the reality of the situation. This sport doesn't need this. Let's all move on.

I think that there are people who learn about the whole nick Johnson story from the point in time in which the civil case was filed against Huntington/nick and have seen the news videos where Lauren and Addy support the school and Lauren.

If you started learning about the story at that point in time, it solely reads like nick is bad- Lauren did nothing wrong- and Lauren's athletes are speaking out to support her.

What those people may not have seen/know about is the multi-year history of issues that lead up to the recent civil suit accusations in which there is more detail and police reports that highlight what Nick was doing and what Lauren knew about and chose not to report.

I would say that there are more posters who would like every post to go in that direction than posters who would like every post to praise her for being the best clean running prospect in the country . . . which is what you've ended up with.
