Not sure if they would have announced a suspension if it was in the works.
I saw mentioned on Twitter that someone thought it could be because he qualified by winning NYC and Boston (not the qualifying time). Remember Ebenyo was initially left off the 10000m team for Budapest probably because he had world ranking instead of the standard (Kandie pulled out so Ebenyo got in). The argument against that is Brigid Kosgei being named
Kosgei has the silver in last Olympics though?
Yes that's a good point, it doesn't make sense to not include him because of that but another possibility I suppose
I read on Twitter that it's because he doesn't have a Kenyan team qualifying time within the last 2 years, which is set at a crazy fast sub 2:05
His recent great results have been on hilly courses, hence the slightly slower times. Apparently if he runs a flat marathon early next year he can make the team.
If true then it's stupid, as the Paris course will be hilly, so you'd think they'd take results on hilly courses as better qualifying times than those on flat ones.
1. That Evans spoke out against Athletics Kenya/revealed the truth whatever that might mean.
2. Evans declined representing the country on 2 occasions.
Remember these are just rumors.
I wrote to Demadonna Athletics Promotions as to why he wasn't selected and they told me to ask AK; seems almost like they are as confused as us or maybe don't want to give anything away
Two-time defending Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge will make the cut, barring some kind of injury.
Speak ill of Kenyan Athletics all you want, but they'd never be so stupid as to leave out the two-time defending Olympic champion like the Brits did in 1988.

It feels possible there is a beef between Evans and AK. Recall he had a falling out with the coach Claudio Berardelli that led to a split before they reconciled a few years back. So maybe there is something festering there, as he is a strong-willed individual. #2 highly possible too, but it seems unless that was in Tokyo they haven't taken declining to participate at Worlds that personally. Kiptum and Kamworor were both officially announced for Budapest and then declined their spots with support from AK.
El K is correct that unless they change course on the whole list, Evans will not be on the squad based on anything he does in the Spring. I do think Mutiso will have a chance as his World Ranking is now very high and they admit his performance at Valencia came in late to be factored. So his situation changed since they added the list. His Prague win over Lemmay has aged very well for him, and his patience in Valencia also looks good. But Chebet seems to be out of it.

Evans Chebet is overated. Yes he has won New York and Boston but so what? there are several other Kenyan elites with faster times than him who have won those races too. What is his USP(unique selling point)?I don't think he has any.The two first slots clearly go to Kiptum and Kipchoge. The only slot left has to go to the best amoungest the rest.Evans Chebet is not that person. AK got this one right in my view.
