Bonthron studied at Princeton University. In 1933, his junior year, Bonthron was IC4A champion at both 800 meters and 1500 meters and then set an American record in a Princeton mile race against New Zealand's Jack Lovelock.
(Both times broke the existing world mile record.)

He won the 1934 NCAA outdoor mile title too (4:08.9)
Adam Dixon's name appears in the Harvard track record book seven times for various indoor and outdoor efforts at 800 meters, 880 yards, 1,000 meters, 1,500 meters and 1 mile
That was my first thought too and if the question is who the best runner from an Ivy school is then Shorter is the obvious answer and there are others whose post Ivy careers did more than Blanks has done so far. But if the question is about who the best Ivy runner was while they were actually in school I'd say Blanks. And if we include women I think Lynn Jennings probably ranks higher than Blanks at least for now.

Andy “Drew” Bernard, Cornell, was 11th at Michael Scott's Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun-Run Race For the Cure.
True a good choice, but if we are calling 800 a distance event then James ‘Ted’ Meredith would top the list with multiple world records and a individual gold.

Jennings is among the greatest US runners ever. But her undergraduate accomplishments are modest compared to her post-collegiate ones. She’s not in Blanks’ league, if we’re only considering what she did while at school.
Six women have made US Olympic teams from the Ivy League
Morgan Uceny (Cornell) 1x Olympics
Meredith Rainey (Harvard) 2x Olympics
Lynn Jennings (Princeton) 3x Olympics (Bronze)
Kate Grace and Katie O'Neill (Yale) 1x Olympics each
Abby D'Agostino (Dartmouth) 1x Olympics
Not the most accomplished professionally of the names you listed, but D’Agostino (now Cooper) had one of the more dominant NCAA careers of any distance women’s distance runner. Blanks’s recent 5k CR goes a long way, but imo he still has some work to do to surpass her collegiate achievements.

I agree and mentioned distinguishing between accomplishments of Ivy runners once they'd left school and accomplishments of Ivy runners while they were still in school. Shorter must be the best of anyone who ran at an Ivy League school but really didn't do much that stood out until NCAAs in his last year.
