It's true, we need to take every opportunity to SUPPORT American runners. People from other countries must surf onto this site and ask themselves why all the runners in this country hate all the other runners in this country.
There's this Ethiopian restaurant in Boston (if you're in town make sure you go it's really good!!), and I've been after the Boston Indoor Games or after an Ethiopian sets a world record or anything like that. If they see the meet program or you mention something about Geb, the server's eyes come alive. They get so excited about it.
I personally think it's awesome to see this sort of nationalistic fervor over running, however "granfalloon"esque it seems to most others in this country. It's really not that horrible to wish the best for someone.
Plus, a lot of it's the anonymity of the internet. No one on here, no matter how brash they come off in a post, would ever walk up to Culpepper and tell him he sucks for coming in "only" getting fourth at Boston.
