So the remaining two contestants went out on another loop. Before departing, I think someone said this is the last loop? So they will stop the race without a definite winner?

Just the last trail loop (for the day). Overnight, they run a different loop that is all on roads.

That better not happen. If the competition is a last man standing format, they better not call it a tie. That would suck so bad.

If he a bit out of it, maybe he is just focusing on trying to hang on. Maybe Harvey was thinking about the mental edge when he took off at the start of the loop?

Definitely running. I like this event except when they tie. What a joke.

How are they filming it? Is someone running behind the guy/driving?

Not sure how “The Kid” is mentally, but he seems to be moving well.

This could be hard to not keep peeking at, if they take each other down for the count.

What exactly am I watching on the livestream. I get there on loop number 107, and obviously the time... and obviously the one guy (Harvey, I presume) ahead of the other. How far is each loop, and how is the winner determined? thanks!

I’m just vaguely familiar with this. I think last man standing wins. I think within each hour they have to complete a 3 mile loop. The only advantage to being “ahead” on a loop is it banks some rest time for the aid station, before going out on the next loop.

Each loop is 4.17 miles, so 100 miles run over a 24 hour period.

The winner has to run 1 more lap than 1st DNF.

Seems like there was another different race Laz puts on where the participants have to find pages in a book? Sometimes that crazy orienteering race doesn’t produce a clear winner, if I’m not mistaken.

Err- the last DNF I mean.

So if last DNF runs 107 laps, the winner has to complete a 108th lap to actually win.

I believe the rules state no ties. Only when a sole runner completes a full loop will a winner be declared.
