Jerry chose to side with SH and damaged the reputations of all of the other BTC athletes - which pissed off all of the athletes.

Jerry decided to take another job and told everyone they had to move to Eugene - which pissed off all of the athletes.

Jerry doesn’t tailor anything for the individual athlete. It’s his way or nothing - which pissed of many athletes.

How about Nike Sports Marketing in all of this? Perhaps they too have pissed off many of the athletes by not doing anything about BTC

This only applies to a small percentage of message board trolls. Nike is still worn and loved by the vast majority of runners. Most of us support Shelby and want her to come back.

The vast majority of runners aren’t picking shoes based on whether prominent runners who used them get busted for doping.

Personally liking the feel of a shoe is a good sign to a shopper. Someone fast trusting them is a good sign to a shopper. Someone who wears them getting busted is irrelevant to 99% of shoppers.

I hear rumors that the pro program will wrap after the Paris games. Bowerman TC may live on as a kids/Nike employees/local heroes club after that. Current corporate leadership isn’t seeing much value or ROI with expensive pro clubs. Union Athletics is also in the crosshairs.

Ahmed, Knight, and Hicks still make a pretty good team on their own, a 12:47 guy with multiple international medals who still contends, a 12:51 guy with enormous talent (who probably will get injured on Jerry's inflexible system but who could probably get into the 12:40s easily on a half dose of Jerry's training), and a promising former collegian who joins Knight as what I think to be the second NCAA xc champ on the men's roster.

Nobody wants another doper back in the sport. No matter what YOU think, you don’t get banned for doing nothing wrong.

Personally, i think it’s Nike who have screwed up here. They allowed/enabled the whole Shelby saga to to to crazytown & then allowed Jerry to take the Oregon job, which was effectively saying “screw you, BTC athletes, i’m going to start coaching college kids and recruit them to fill your slots on the roster.
