McKirdy is the least qualified coach in the country. Check out this interview about how he got started coaching and how he started his company. He's a con artist.
He also coached the 4th placer at Worlds this year, the only man in the race to PB. If that's "least qualified" then American coaches must be the best in the world. It's not where you're from, it's where you're at, as they say.
Bashes are ruining those that are doing something.
Thank you James McKirdy
McKirdy was at the Eugene world championships in 2022. He went up to every marathoner and offered them free gear, training, travel, shoes, etc. One guy from the country of LESOTHO took McKirdy's free stuff.
This athlete had already qualified for worlds, he had already run 1:01 in the half. He placed 4th in one of the weakest World Championship fields ever. NONE of the best athletes ran it.
Kudos to James for being a vulture in Eugene, but there is also a 100% chance McKirdy had nothing to do with the athlete's training. Any training the athlete received probably came from one of the marathoners that James hired to help "coach"
2:12 for the win for Hehir and 2:25 for Thackery on Women's side. 2:16:33 for Blankenship

YOU are a turd.
Which athlete have you decided to support?
Did he enter 23 athletes 3 weeks before and scratch 14 of them three days before?
If it walks like a duck...

James McKirdy is putting on a Trials qualifier friendly race. I don't see anything wrong with that. It will be interesting to see how many racers qualify. That is the key.....and the purpose for this race. Multi loop flat course.
Nobody bitched about that flat loop fast course in Phoenix during Covid that Marty Hehir won.
Does anyone have a link to the results?

Lots of qualifiers there, including some familiar names.
35 men under the standard. 12 women under the standard. Some were not Americans.
Good temps, started raining about 90 minute mark.
Wow crazy number of qualifiers! Will be interesting to see if this becomes the new CIM and becomes the preferred place for people to get their OTQ's
Also not following the hate for McKirdy. What's the problem with offering people free stuff and charging $129 per month for coaching? $129 is pretty standard for what many coaches charge and don't see what's wrong with giving away free things, maybe I'm missing something though

Seems like there's one hater posting a bunch IMO. No opinion about McKirdy myself, but the reasons posted are unbelievably tame.
$129 honestly seems on the low side these days.
But, to the point of the thread, this race looked great. Tons of new Trials qualifiers. Local guy near me ran 2:17-high to get in. Love to see it.
2.22.17 for Calli Thackery.
I knew she was very good but I didn't think a 2.22 debut was possible. Incredible performance.

Haters go home devastated!
I was there - ran in the 10k after. Watching the wave of guys cross was unreal. The course was flat as a pancake and had a tangent line the whole way. Lots of energy and emotion at the finish for the Full, for the men and women. The lead women's race was incredible...She crossed the line and was ecstatic - This was a really neat event, i hope they grow it into a great qualifier for years to come. Id highly recommend it to anyone looking to OT qualify OR run a 10k on a really fast course!

That sounds awesome. I'm always rooting for Ben Blankenship.
