The rules should allow for the men race the car pacekeeping, or at least pacekeeping by bike, since for the women runners there is a men who can pacekeeping from the start to to last meters, while for the men field there is not possible due to the tempo, or at least they should allow for the pacekeepers to join later while other pacekeepers give the tempo earlier.
If they somehow could solve the pacekeeping in the men event, I think we can get the sub 2 time early.
I wrote on a different thread few weeks to Berlin that Kiptum was in great shape having witnessed him doing some incredible track sessions at the Annex track in Eldoret. The guy was in top shape but he was very clever to divert attention from himself by playing it all down claiming not to have had an ideal preparation prior to Chicago as compared to London. I reckon there is more to come from him.

Can you remember times and length of reps at the intervals?
Look everybody, you always count on me the RF King to make the analysis or judgement that is closest to the truth so here it is:
1) Kelvin Kiptum is a legit marathoner who isn't doped up with any 1 single drug. Again as in my earlier responses relating to Jakob and Kipchoge, age is a factor in favor of Kelvin, he is only 22 or thereabouts, so a 2:00:35 at such a young age more than agreeable. Whereas Kipchoge ran his 2nd WR at 38 yrs old so he is definitely dirty. Do remember he also had a training partner on drugs. I would also implicate Faith Kipyegon automatically due to being in the same training group and setup as Kipchoge.
2) Kelvin Kiptum seems to be training alone like Geoffrey Mutai and Kamworar used to do in their younger days. I like that isolation and solitude because it's healthy protection from corrupt persons and entities with drugs and all
3) Of course the shoes would be a great advantage as usual and according to Ross Tucker then Kelvin would be one of the greatest responders of all time in the marathon.
4) Kelvin has this very unorthodox but elegant biomechanical technique in which runs like a loss-less pendulum that could go on forever. Loss-less systems are over unity efficient systems. He also looks too fresh at the finish line compared to Kipchoge in his last year. Again none of these is due to drugs at all as usually dopers do not run with such elegance at all.
5) My estimate is that Kelvin Kiptum is running double 59:30 soon.
Look here man, if Kelvin is running 3 minutes faster than Dennis Kimetto on a non-WR course as Chicago, he would be running also today 3 minutes faster than Dennis' previous WR on the Berlin course which is 2:02:57 - 0:3:00 = 1:59:57 today!
But since Kipchoge the fishy doper usually positive splits all his marathon WRs while Kelvin negative splits his, then this means if Kelvin positive split his marathon he would be taking the WR into the 1:58 region? 58:50 + 59:59 = 1:58:49!
Yes, it's called also ZPR or zero point radiation. It's original energy of creation when the universe was just a tiny 'black hole'. Kelvin does run like a black hole or eye of the hurricane drilling and boring his way through space and time easily.

I honestly agree on all the pro-Kiptum takes here, but the Kipchoge and Kipyegon hate is simply unfounded and full of envy
Well how could I be envy-ing a now proven slower marathon in Kipchoge and also slower 5k runner as Kipyegon? If I were in my right mind as an envy-er I should be envy-ing Kelvin and dishing 'hate' on him rather? But instead I'm saying all the good things about him? Doesn't make any sense right?
I have my doubts but regardless you don't run a sub 2:01 marathon simply by popping pills. The talent and dedication is real regardless and this is just a ridiculous extension of the limits of our species, no complaints from me
