He got his boss ticked off and got fired. He is home watching high school meets on runnerspace. He is a middle age unemployed man.
This is exactly right. All this bluster about what he was going to do is typical Brosnan talk. He's a middle aged dude who's drama way outweighs his value as proven by his firing.
He was a nobody before he met the Youngs and Sahlmans and he's now a nobody again. Those families gave him his 5 years of fame and I hope he's grateful towards them.
For all those conspiracy theorists and fan boys, you don’t have the inside knowledge to know what working with him on a daily basis was like. The administration is not out to get him. After all, they hired him and I’m sure we’re hopeful he would be successful.
it just turned out he was not a good employee from their view. They aren’t trying to sabotage the team or have some hidden agenda. They want to have a good team without problems that could negatively impact their main revenue sports, just like almost all major P5 schools.
3. Lananna should have just accepted his athlete didn’t want to run for him instead of making up false allegations.
4. I feel bad for UCLA athletes
And yet Vin is employed and coaching two very good XC teams and Brosnan is at home coaching nobody. Somehow this is everyone's fault other than the guy who got fired. I guess people were just out to get him for no reason. Yeah right.

The NCAA is filled with BS hiring and firing. The organization is an actual joke when you look deep. The man will be fine and be coaching soon enough. He’s one of the best distance coaches in the country and whoever hires him will be lucky.
You're right. Hiring Brosnan was a horrible decision. After all that drama, the women's team is almost exactly where they were last year (team time is almost identical from Dellinger last year) and the men that ran last year and this year ran almost exactly the same. It's like he had zero impact.
That was a lot of headache for nothing. Seems like Anderson or whoever they have coaching can do just as good of a job.
Brosnan had more all Americans at UCLA in one year on the distance side, then past coaches saw in their entire time at UCLA. Brosnan got top recruits and they all split or didn't end up coming when the admin screwed things up again. I am not familiar with Lindsey Cornwell, but I'm familiar with Gavin Crew and he is a big reason UCLA XC / Track is awful year after year.

Brosnan is not completely innocent here. He screwed up with following recruiting rules, and there are "Rumors" of other wrong doing as well. All will come out soon. Brosnan has the potential to be a great coach.

I saw somewhere that he was fired because the AD thought Brosnan was not a good leader
