I know that this is old hat for those of you who consume the least bit of social media, but what sticks out is the first sentence. 1.2m million followers, many who, I'm guessing, feel good when a stranger that they'll never meet or speak with pretends to be their friend: "......I'm beyond excited to share this news with YOU GUYS!!!"
She claims in the preview shared above that she became a Christian between 2016 and 2022. Was she not a Christian when she attended Union Catholic? Is she Catholic now? Are Catholics Christians?
Sydney was always part of a Christian Church her whole life. But she had some kind of spiritual awakening in 2020 or 2021. I think that is what she is talking about.
She looks like the most drop dead gorgeous, magnificently beautiful athlete in athletics today. Such grace and beauty with no ugly tattoo markings on her gorgeous skin.
She is one of my favorite T&F athletes currently, but her over-the-top religiosity is a turn-off. But I'll ignore it (same as I did with Alyson Felix and Bryan Clay and countless others) because I admire her for her athletic performance, NOT for her beliefs / superstitions / politics / etc.
I can sympathize because at her age, I too was a religion-crazed evangelist. I know it comes from good intentions, however naive &/or ignorant. So I cut her some slack... She means well, even if it is annoying as shtixx.
But the more overt and vocal it becomes, the more unwatchable they become. Gag. What a shame. It's hard to leave a cult once you've got the sunk costs of public / emotional investment.
I also notice they don't do the God thing when they lose - only when they win. That's strange to me as well. I wait to see what Sydney will do if she loses a big race. Especially one she was expected to win. I want to see if she will thank God as well.
Actually Bol keeps extensive journals. That's one of the things she in known for in the Netherlands although it's seldom if ever mentioned on the telecasts.
Why are Sydney fans so paranoid about Bol? It's beyond sad. They apparently have faith in fear. Every Bol video on YouTube turns into desperate bashing from Sydney fans in the comment section. This has been going on for 2 years. They even reach back into older Bol videos to make the same type of comments, even though the two hadn't even faced each other at that point.
Sydney is faster. Sydney used the 14 strides to go out faster so she could keep pace with Dalilah. Bol uses 14 just the opposite. She goes out in the same pace as 15 but the 14 allows her to save energy and finish faster.
There is room for both. Kind of ridiculous there's so much comparison and debate when they have raced against each other a grand total of 2 times.

Will be interesting to see if she tones it down as she grows older and realizes that there are shades of gray.

Syd's fans are not paranoid about Bol. There is a demeaning of Syd's accomplishments by Bol's fans.
Syd is ~1 second faster than Bol when she wasn't concentrating on the 400M. Now that she is and is even faster at the flat 400, I suspect the differential is now even greater. But to hear Bol's fans pontificate, Syd would only edge Bol in a race. Gimme a break
