Neguse runs 3:30.5 with a 54.9 last lap in his first year as a professional athlete. It was a great season. Now someone teach him to run with his hands down by his waist so he can better drive them down the homestretch.
Why is every post on this site so dang negative. The kid was just 5th in the world at his first global champs. That's incredible! He seemed very pleased walking off the track as well, and rightfully so. It was a great run!

Nuguse showed this year that he has the speed to contend but there is more to the sport than running fast times in a time trial environment or even a diamond league race (especially in a weaker field). In contrast, you have Kerr, who has done a great job of peaking at the right time and rising to the occasion in the finals. At times he appears to struggle to even make the final (notably Tokyo) but cant argue with his results.

He's young , this is good experience for him. He may have expected to win and did everything he can to do so but its a good run and he will learn from it. I doubt there is any racisim here. Born out of expectation me think.

He’s not that young, he just did 5 years in the NCAA. The man’s 24, he’ll be 25 in Paris next year. Centro won his Rio gold at 26 and Jakob won Tokyo gold at 20
