We've merged two threads on this topic into 1. Habs started it 1st so he gets the title. The other thread started by letsrun was called, "Noah Lyles calls out Rojo after winning men's 100m: "And for your friend there, how many Olympic medals am I going to win now?""
How’s that a roast? Just because he won world championships golds does that automatically mean that he will win gold in Paris? He can roast and clap back at Rojo when if he wins gold in Paris.
Well we would hear on the recap podcast that rojo was right and that lyles lost this year so he wouldn't win next year. So it's definitely a win for lyles and a loss for rojo. Every single time Lyles beats them it makes Rojo look more wrong.
Why is she going to roast me? The last thing I did in the US was try to lay down $100 on her to win. I've always believed in her talent. My genetic equal is the leader of the Sha'Carri bandwagon -he said last year she'd be the World champ this year.
Andyways, someone on here wanted to know what my answer to Lyles is. Weldon said I should have said 2.
Well if the question is how many medals, the answer might have been 2. I specifically said Noah Lyles will neverf win an Olympic gold medal. He very well may win 2 of those tonight but tonight honestly doesn't change too much. It's not like I never said that Noah Lyles isn't talented. I just am pointing out that there are 2 (and at the time when I spoke to MJ there were 3) super young, super talented guys - Knighton, Assinga, and Tebogo. And if we're talking about the 100, add in Seville (22) and Blake (21).
Basically if you are looking for a hot take, one coudl interpret Michael Johnson's reaction to my statement as him saying, "MIchael Johnson believes Erriyon Knighton and Letsile Tebogo have no shot of winning the 2024 Olympic 200 title," because let's be honest, if Lyles doesn't win in 2024, does anyone expect him to win in 2028.
I just kind of thought Covid cost Lyles a 2020 Olympic title just in the same way it cost Timothy Cheruiyot one. If you miss your window, it's hard to come back 4 years later.
PS. As for Coleman, I ended up being right, right? After he almost had a whereabouts failure I basically was saying this, "This guy needs to prove his clean and be drug tested every day here on out."
Instead of taking me up on that offer to be super diligent and take proving his innocence seriously, he did the opposite - he went out to buy a Chipotle and got banned.
And when he got banned, I defended him somewhat as I said I didn't like how the testers didn't call him. If they normally call during the window, then call during the window.

Rojo, you’ve set yourself up perfectly. If Lyles doesn’t win gold in Paris….well you were a prophet and now if he does win, you can claim credit for providing him with the motivation he needed.

Say what you want about Rojo but it led to some interesting points from MJ and Noah and a bit of fun too. I liked that he didn't rollover either when Lyles shot at him.
