I guess I’m a believer in Jepchirchir. Her tactics seem superior to the Ethiopians. If it’s super fast yeah Welteji/Hassan/Haylom might beat her anyway. In a 3:57+ race give me Mageean/Jepchirchir for a surprise podium
Based on semi 2, why would the final be a 3:57 or slower race? No, the winner of this race will be fast, very fast with the winner under 3:52 (or faster) with six or more under 3:56.
1. Kipyegon, 3:51.5
2. Hassan, 3:53.1
3. Haylom 3:53.4

In the semi final today Hassan seemed to have so much more in her, she held back, I was very surprised how strong she got and in the 10K yesterday, she seems mentally free of bother +got stronger and fast again. It was a misfortune for her, to have the 2 day events with not enough time in between, the difficult hot 10K so late in the evening. IF she'll be fresh Tuesday, she could go crazy fast. How special would that be, to win from the WR holder at this point? How exciting would that be, for Sifan?
but if she runs fast she should have this race wrapped up by the bell
cause if they arrive at 2.50 its all over
We did not get the chance to see where she's now, concerning her max speed, because; not the right time, right distance, right day, right opponents. I think Tuesday 1500m could be the day! 1500m Is a warm up for her, if she can accelerate long enough and go really deep (thanks to Faith) in this distance than there is a real goal ;) As written, semi was nothing yet, more is to come. Only thing worried about is, what the effects are of the fall on her body, don't trust knowledge of doctors concerning woman bodies when saying all's fine, to her. There must be a heavy impact, she may not be aware of it yet. Just fishing of course.
If Addy Wiley had gone she probably would have advanced to the finals and won the gold.
We have seen the future of the sport and her name is Addy Wiley!
Uhhhhh no. Give it a rest. Addy is an exceptional athlete but she is not yet at least even close to a gold medal caliber. Maybe someday. I think you must be trolling for some weird reason. BTW of the teen phenom's I will take Halom (17yrs old) over Wiley (19 yrs old) any day.

Sifan will win. She won London Marathon a few months ago and if not for the tactical error of trying to play tokyo drift against Tsegay she would have won women's 10k. Hasan jogged through the 1500 prelims, she is on a whole other tier than any other woman including the GOATs.
I'm surprised how much Muir is being overlooked both here and by pundits. The people on Citius didn't even mention her as an outsider, focussing more on Hull and Mageean. Muir has run faster than both of those this season, has a better overall PB, and is a proven championship performer. Only three women in the field have won global 1500 medals and Muir is one of them.

If they’re seriously putting Hull over Muir that’s insane. I can see the argument for Mageean. She has a strong kick and has had a better season than Muir. While you are correct on the medals statement, I’d give Welteji a lot of respect for 4th at Worlds last year in her secondary event (with a loaded big 3 in front of her). Ultimately, Muir might prove me wrong but she’s giving me vibes of Raevyn Rogers last year with an uneven season, running better at Worlds, but then maybe a 5th/6th place finish.
