And oh yeah a guy named Steve Scott was pretty good too. I believe UC-Irvine they were DII at the time, but also could compete in the DI champs back then as well.

I agree with Porter, particularly if we are including a runner's post-collegiate career. When just looking at the collegiate resume, Rick Robirds (3x national xc champ, multiple track champ/all-american) is Adams State's best NAIA runner of all-time in my opinion. Also, school record holder in the 10k at 28:22. Robirds was an animal, mentally as tough as they come. He came from a small town in the eastern part of Colorado, Sterling. His high school pr's couldn't have been much better than 9:50s, 4:40ish.
Names escape me right now, but the crew from Lubbock Christian, back in the mid 90's was pretty good....
