It's a lot easier to get to the top than it is to stay at the top. That said, I hope he keeps improving. He's right on the cusp of 3:28, which I can't believe an American is running. With his 3:47i, 3:29.02, and 3:30 DL win, it's safe to say he's not just a flash in the pan. Judging by Hoare's last couple seasons, there's no reason to think this will be his peak either. He's in a great group, has great support, and has immense talent.
His indoor mile showed that he had gold medal potential. A 25 last 200 in a 3:30 equivalent race is spectacular. He's certainly not the favorite (idk if anyone will be during Jakob's reign of terror), but he's got a crazy close, and his PR is already faster than Wightman's. Another year of development and he could very well be challenging Jakob in the Olympics.
It's 7:28 in the 3000m that place him in a close circle.
