Yes. I noticed the IP address of some of Boulder coffee shop and climbing gym in Boulder banned from posting at letsrun
Proof that the pros come on here all the time and often post stuff they shouldn't out of jealousy or to out someone who wronged them.
The proper response is as follows.
"Wow you post on LetsRun?" "Yes I do. I'm one of the best track and field fans in the world. And I love the non-track talk stuff too. I'm a big believe in the first ammendment and in today's world, the algorithms and fox news and msnbcs of the world only give you the news you want to see. It's good to be challenged by the other side."
'like rojo, I only post illiterate nonsense on LRC when I'm drunk'
99% of the population have no clue what Letsrun is
I had a really lame coworker who ran 2:30 half marathons and she used to read this place, no clue why. She clearly didn’t even train, but she was into gossip.
I once woke up on a flight seated next to a fellow pro runner and caught them not just reading letsrun but typing a post. I’ve never seen a grown man’s fingers swipe close a screen so quick once he saw I was awake. We sat silently for a moment before I said, “we all do it man. It’s ok”
We both laughed and agreed to never speak of it again.
12-15yrs ago, my manager would tell me every so often to not be on "that running website" too much while at work. He did it nicely, so it was just a reminder for me to moderate myself.

0/10 - pro runners can’t afford in flight internet
Have you ever been caught browsing this site in public? If so, what is the reaction you typically get? And what’s the best response?
Yes. No reaction because most people don't know, and don't care what it is. Only entitled people like you would ask such a dumb question. You're as dumb as your mom.
A running friend knows of the existence of this board, but she's only been here once. Thinks it's a waste of time. She's quite pragmatic, more so than me.

It happened to me last April during the Boston Marathon weekend in a hotel lobby... Someone passed behind me, obviously saw my laptop's screen, and shouted: "ALL ELITES ARE DOPERS" and laughed... He scared me but I ended up laughing as well!
Saw someone I knew on it at an airport. Good college runner (sub 4, barely) but that was it. I couldn’t see what the thread was - if it was running or politics
