    Yeah but remember that's for the pacers. So even if you have Sowinski at 2.18.0, McSweyn at 2.18.2 or so, then Jakob is always kind of half a second down on that. And again, even if McSweyn can get to 1200 in 2.46.0 then Jakob is still a minimum of 2/10th's back.

    I know that sounds "fastidiously micro" in analysis but I do think it matters when you are running this fast. The big one for me and I mentioned above, is how fast can he hit that final 300 off whatever that pace is at 1200.

    I wrote this on another thread but I am still mind blown that El G set this WR going through 12 in 2.46.34 which we could conceivably see Jakob do tomorrow almost to the tenth. That he dropped 39.66 off that speed of running is yeah, well, not sure what to think really.

    These splits are ridiculous. I'm so excited, I've never seen someone try to run a time like this. I feel like 3:26 is a stretch, but I thought 7:57 was a stretch and he clowned on that.

    You want ridiculous splits? At Rieti in 2001, El G ran 3.29.08 for the win. Nothing incredible about that right? Except he went through 800m in under 1.49 and 1200 in sub 2.44 (!!!) - he absolutely waded the last 150m by El G standards but the thought of that is just incredible.

    He said: "If I get another race at 3:27, I'll be very happy."

    The most important part of that quote was the third digit in the time he stated, and you managed to f*ck that up (among other things).

    After hearing that the DL final is a mile, I think 3:45 has to be the goal, but if Jakob is feeling good I could see 3:44....

    Also, McSweyn is a slow starter. Will he get to the front at all in this speed?

    Sure, the last 400 meters are crucial, but so is the first 200-300.

    Wonder how he will handle that. Having the pacers sprint in the front and give him space to go in earlier?
