Big Sha’Carri fan here but given her history being a drama magnet I’d be concerned something would happen and it’d blow up into a big issue. Better to keep her as a lone wolf tearing up the 100 and 200.
I'd trust her just about as much even more then what the men are capable of doing with their handoffs
Yes and for years the men believed in the myth of having your 100 winner anchor. The problem they constantly had was guys just didn't mesh. Then in Doha instead of putting 100 champ Coleman on anchor, they had him leadoff because of his start and put Lyles on anchor because of his top end speed. They then set the American Record.
And of course, as LRC posters do, they read only part of a post. I did say that if Sha'Carri was to run a leg I would think it would be the first leg.
What does the Jamaicans performance last year have to do with Sha’carri running a relay leg this year? What have you seen that would indicate she’s not capable of running a solid relay leg? You’re not making any sense.
Like it or not she will be running a 4x100 leg. She’s the USA’s best 100 sprinter.
You've never run a 4x1...it's all about executing your passes. We've seen time and again, especially with the US men bungled handoffs and not even finishing. What have YOU seen that indicates she has the discipline to not take off too early or not run up on the next leg?
I'm a 400/800 guy but have run plenty of 4x1s, 4x2s, & 4x4s. I know plenty about relays. I’m not leaving my fastest runner off of the team.
You're not thinking at all, you're probably a distance runner. Yes, Jacobs is a good relay man...but some runners are not good relay runners because it's a different type of racing. As I pointed out the Jamaicans swept the 100 but lost the relay because they messed up one pass while the Americans tailored their lineup to minimize the risk. That's the only reason they won.
You're thinking too much. Yes, everyone knows that hand-offs are important.. you aren't some genius for figuring that out. However, if you'd rather leave off a 10.71 100m runner CHAMPION and replace her with an 11.00 runner you are a complete idiot.
Not overthinking, I just know more than you. If you read the whole original post I did say if she was to run a leg it would be the first leg. But her inexperience in international majors, plus her occasional lack of focus tells me she would be a liability.

Obviously you haven't and probably are lying. The fact that you could not understand why the Jamaicans lost last year in spite of having the three fastest open runners shows that.
