My issue: Biden admin. & C.I.A. are taking a huge risk. Eisenhower/Nixon admin. armed Cubans in 1960. C.I.A. training camps in 1960 for Cubans in Florida, Texas and LA willing to fight against Castro. Some of the readers on here may be grandchildren of Cubans armed in 1960. C.I.A. mission planned in 1959 & 1960 and launched in 1961 was a bad idea. Biden & C.I.A. funding Wagner is bad idea today. This feels like a Biden & C.I.A. Hail Mary. Or, it could be a lie.

No good outcome will come out of this. On one hand, a certifiable psychopath who says the Russian army should focus on taking out, in his words, "cokehead" Zelensky could get his hands on the world's largest nuclear arsenal. On the other, Putin would want to make an example out of Prigozhin by moving forward with the kind of ruthlessness that could put us all at peril.

It was about paying off COVID debts by manipulating energy markets. The world was close enough to a nuclear war already, this just heightens the risk. A rebel group disrupting a local gov't isn't exactly a civil war. This happens in South America and the African Continent constantly. Unless the local population shows support for the Wagner group it'll be sent into disorder quickly by the Russian army and leave hundreds of former criminals at large to fend for themselves, against the general population. Dang! At least my biggest problem is sewing the uppers back together in my favorite old running shoes.

I wonder how much army Putin has in Moscow to defend it? If he pulls troops from the Ukraine, even if they can arrive in time, why would they fight to defend Putin and be sent straight back to the meat grinder, instead of joining the guy who wants to bring the war to an end?

The people that support Trump and said "nobody was tougher on Putin" because they were scared of him are the same ones defending Putin as his regime falls.
