banned particularly for minors - social media is a waste of time and is destroying teens' mental states (way worse to teens than smoking). They banned it because they fear the Chinese govt will get your data, but a ban is still a good thing.
The worry over data gathering from the Chinese is laughable. As if your ENTIRE LIFE in data form isn't already in the hands of anyone (Government or otherwise) who'd want it. Every account on a website you've ever set up (trial or subscription), Amazon, Netflix, on and on and on.....your data is out there and not as private as you think. So the "we need to protect our data" is a toothless statement to rile up those who think they know what they are talking about.
PS....writing on this message board is social media, buddy. So clearly you don't hate the idea of social media as much as you think you do. Because you are wasting your time on this social media platform to post about fearmongering.
