Deal with it. So to ban TikTok on the premise of “stay away from my data, China!” follows zero logic other than “let’s get people angry about sh!t that doesn’t matter!”. This way they can continue to ignore fixing problems that actually do matter. Yay politics.

This is idiotic. Why would I care if my Tik Tok activity was stored on a computer in China. And if Americans are so addle-minded as to be influenced into voting one way or another by an algorithm slightly adjusting my feed, then shouldn’t all social media companies be banned?

You are still missing the point. Your data exists in the world; full stop. Banning TikTok doesn't do anything to prevent that. And I'd bet almost everything that the CPP already has your data because you've likely interacted, unknowingly, with a corporation/company that is Chinese owned, which means CCP owned.

Supporting this ban is to support a paper-tiger piece of legislation that means nothing and can't/won't be enforced. Pressure your chosen political side to actually do something that actually means something. Because trumpeting about this ban ain't it.
