It's tempting to pick Kiptum because he's coming off a good race and Kipchoge off a bad one. Also, Kiptum's age speaks to an improving trajectory, versus Kiphchoge's age which suggests a plateau or downward trend.
But I wouldn't want to race against a pissed off Eliud Kipchoge right now.
Kipchoge wins any head to head in the next 6-12 months (but not beyond that).
Does Chebet go back to defend his NY title, or go to Berlin to see if he can manage Kiptum on a flat fast course? Does EK go to NY to try and win a new major and show he can win on that sort of “slow” course, or does he need to try to defend his wr in a head to head with Kiptum in Berlin? I’m hoping the three square off in a Berlin race rather than in NY and I hope to g-d EK doesn’t bail and run in Sydney. That’s just a duck and cover move.
At this point I think Kiptum wins. Kipchoge can't run away from Kiptum, Kipchoge would be a pacer the entire way and Kiptum likely has the quicker speed at the end of the race.
Right now, I think Eliud. That might change in the near future, but I think there fitness is relatively equal with Eliud being a smarter and more efficient racer.
There isn't a single Kiptum thread - and there are so many of them - that doesn't raise the subject of his likely doping. But you can't suggest it here. The moderation of this forum has become farcical.

Laughable post. You emphasize the topic is available everywhere else yet you desperately want to insert it here also.
"Likely doping" is your version. Cynics are dependably pathetic.

So on every other thread it is widely asserted he is a doper, but all of a sudden, on this thread, it can't be mentioned. It must be assumed here he's clean and doping isn't part of the equation of whether he would beat Kipchoge. It would be truly comical if this was a 20 year old thread about Lance Armstrong. The arguments then were the same.
