In the last several years he took more and more extreme positions (at least on the air). Even I saw several of them were laughable.

Are conservatives going to boycott and tank the main conservative news channel?

This is surprising and, given the timing, seems like it'd have to be related to the Dominion lawsuit or the pending one on false election fraud claims.

However, I'm not naïve enough to think that Tucker Carlson won't be just fine in terms of a new revenue stream. Maybe it will reach a smaller audience, but he's clearly got passionate supporters, for better or worse.

It would be great to see Lemon and Carlson teamed as a new version of Hannity and Colmes.

I lost trust in him in the weeks after the 20 election. his pandering became toos obvious. its a shame because he is good at what he does, but 5 to 10% of it is bs, and that's unacceptable

O'Reilly was much more of a straight shooter which may have been because he came from a straight news background.

Carlson's ratings had been better than Hannity, but Hannity reportedly was making significantly more. I suspect that Carlson was wanting a big bump in compensation and the Dominion settlement made it clear that FoxNews wasn't going to be able to give him a raise. I don't think anyone at FoxNews cared about his "independence" when he would pretend to care about social media censorship as much as his tendency to piss off advertisers when he got too explicit on the Great Replacement Theory.

The fact of the matter is that people who watch FoxNews will watch FoxNews as long as the hosts are right wing nutbags. Their is a long list of right wing media figures who will do Tucker's job just as well for a fraction of his current price tax. And FoxNews viewers will stay pinned to the TV.

Finally, this may also be the beginning of Tucker Carlson moving into politics. Carlson hates Trump and was rumored to be exploring a primary run in 2024. Time is running out on that move, but Carlson has a bunch of properties in FL. I would not be surprised if he primaried Rick Scott in 2024 for Senate.

The lesson is that if you cost your corporation hundreds of millions of dollars, you're out, not if you lie and lie and lie to your audience.

No one is restricting his speech

He has the over 50s audience on Fox News which is the main bloc interested in conservative politics. Those people are not going to migrate to podcasts, it's a medium more associated with younger voters.

He also won't get the casual viewer/suburban mom audience, who are not going to search out internet streams.
