Running a pro race makes him ineligible? Is that just a California thing? Plenty of high schoolers have run pro races and still competed in their normal high school season

It's a stupid rule. State high school athletic federations need to get over themselves.
It is stupid. I’m not sure why these high school federations feel the need to wield so much power and keep kids under their thumb.
I recall an incident in a cross country meet a few years back in Ohio and a girl was wearing a scrunchy or something like that in her hair and during the race she removed it and put it on her wrist. She was DQ’d due to a “no jewelry” rule. It was an important meet like a district or something and her disqualification prevented her team from advancing to the state meet.

If he breaks 4 before the Youngs do, does that confirm him as the superior runner once and for all?
I’m not sure if this is a joke. Leo likely could have broken 4 already this year if it had been his goal, given his 16th at World Jr XC and his 3:40 1500. And come mid summer, if Leo has broken 4 as well and run a US HS record at 2 mile or 5k, it’s not gonna matter that Sahlman broke 4 first.

Well, Aaron Sahlman has a national high school xc championship, a 1:48.8 800m pr, and is surely going to break 4 on April 22, all superior credentials to Leo and Lex to this point. They are close. Aaron already had an 8:03 3k last year, which is better than Leo has run. So, he has better pr's at 800/3k and probably mile next week, as well as the xc national championship. Of course, Leo won US jr xc and was 16th at World Jr., which is tremendous, but Aaron destroyed the Youngs at NXN. He is close to assembling the credentials for an arguably better hs career. With considerably better speed and the xc strength, he should run a better mile this year and should have more potential at 3000m on down. However, Leo and Lex are going to be very good at 5000m on up.

I think the rule is if you run pro or college competition in a meet with a HS section you forfeit your eligibility in cali, so a pro meet with only pros is fine
The three guys each have an argument right now, Sahlman at 400/800, and is ahead of Leo at 3k/3200 equivalent, Leo at 1500 currently, they are all very close at the mile, Lex at 3k, 3200, and 5000m, and either Aaron or Leo at xc. What a coincidence that one program would have five guys that close together, counting Nico and Colin. Must have been just the luck of the two sets of brothers. No other schools ever had sets of brothers. Nico ran 4:10 in a workout, so we can discount the mile time (he has run 3:55 in college); his senior season was cut short by covid, and the 13:50 was on a hot day with poor pacing. Colin's track credentials are the best at this point, but each of his best times could fall this season.

I’ve seen this question a lot on this forum. So a lot of people got this question. So by this logic, a lot of people care
It just shows that there's too many rules in modern society.
It should be simplified down to four rules -
1) Don't Kill
2) Don't Rape
3) Don't Steal
4) And if you're born with testicles you stay the f#ck away from competing in women's sports.
Your society would use one of its four rules to stop transwomen from competing in female sport, thereby allowing transmen (or simply biological females who don't mind looking like transmen) to dominate it instead.
Which tells us one thing: four rule societies don't work.
