Please take some reading comprehension classes before you graduate. The US population is majority white. People root for others who look like themselves. If black, it is front and center. I see many segments with black athletes or black leaders who said the searched for people who looked like them. So with the US population being majority white, Mu gets less attention than Tuohy even though she is world class while Tuohy is college class amd not close to world class. If Mu was white, she would be much more popular than Tuohy. Nobody is racist in the sense that they are accused of by being a Tuohy fan but color factors in.

No. The point is that neither runner previously mentioned is actually popular when compared to an NCAA athlete that is, in fact, popular. I won’t debate the merits of whatever means (performance, provocative photos, etc) an athlete does or does not choose to create popularity, but the fact remains that neither Tuohy or Boling have any real popularity when normalized against any iota of real popularity.
