If you're a gymnast you get paid more than a runner. Running is easy - all you have to do is put on super shoes and run. Now, gymnastics .. that takes some serious talent.
No wonder even college gymnasts get paid $1 million a year.
is parsons actually a trust fund kid or thats some type of ongoing joke? he does come off as just having money to throw around and not require any real responsibility - even without being on a contract with adidas - so i wouldnt be surprised. his instagram is very annoying personally, but i digress. life must be nice.. ive also wondered what pros are making. like, is an average contract something modest like 40-60k, or are some of these dudes making 100k+/yr pretty easily? obviously im sure brazier and hocker signed lucrative deals that must be over 100k/yr..but for the rest of the men, curious if most are making an average salary compared to a white collar worker, or if the pros on this list are all actually making more than most people for their running
Parsons went to a high school that costs $34k a year. He has support.
This is the best guess you are going to get at pro T&F salaries. Not perfect, but I trust the agents negotiating the contracts to take better guesses than us on the boards.
I wish LRC would do this survey every couple of years as new runners emerge.

I can tell you Joe only makes slightly more than a run of the mill McJob. But hey, he's still running professionally and doesn't have to work that McJob.
base salary guesses: 1. Donovan Brazier - Nike (UAC) 200k 2. Cole Hocker - Nike (OTC?) 250k 3. David Ribich - Nike (UAC) 50k 4. Josh Kerr - Brooks Beast 70k 5. Grant Fisher - Nike (BTC) 80k 6. Cooper Teare - Nike (BTC) 80k 6. Ollie Hoare - On Athletics 80k 7. Joe Klecker - On Athletics 80k 8. Morgan Mcdonald - On Athletics 60k 9. Drew Hunter - Adidas (Tinman) 200k 10. Sam Parsons - Adidas (Tinman) 70k 11. Adam Fogg - Under Armour 50k
Kerr definitely makes way more. Whenever a stud goes to a fringe group (Ches), they get paid a bag. Teare & Fisher too low as well, even with the notorious BTC/Nike discount. Same with all the ON boys.
Parsons probably the only one on this list thats too high, maybe Ribich as well.
theres no way kessler makes 600k a year..maybe you mean over the life or a longer term of his contract? i heard rumours in the past that drew hunter was on 100k/yr for ten years + adidas paid for his school and other stuff. not sure if thats all correct but seems plausible
grant fisher is a top guy now. do you think his base is something like 40k only? id have to imagine nike is throwing him at least 75k salary just given how good he is as a runner. i agree and acknowledge that runners dont bring in money for these brands the same way a football or basketball star does of course lol. i wonder how much $ you get for breaking an american record
Lol, 19 year old Herb Elliott was offered $250,000 to turn professional at age 20 by an American promoter. That's $6 million in today's money. And many here claim that track has always been a niche sport...
My boi kyle merber just bought a million dollar house… Dat boi must’ve made bank on running salary during his career, or his family has that moolah to give
I’d guess cole hocker is on 200k base and has nice incentives for bonus and time goals. I think it’s accurate most of the other guys on your list are on 60-75k base which is a decent salary considering your job is to train full time, but certainly more money could be made in other normal jobs. pro life is unique though and it’s nice to see that guys can solely focus on running at the highest level while still being compensated. id think a couple names are paid something lower like 40k (ribich, fogg) but could be way off and maybe the base salary floor for almost all pros is now something better like 50k across the board for all major brands
jakob must make a TON. $250k+ a year base at least, plus he probably makes great additional $ on all the records/incentives he can hit as well
Lol, Jakob is making is making millions, Ive heard $4M with his new deal following the Tokyo Olympics that runs through 2032. You have to remember he is not just track famous, his family is one of the most famous in all of Norway. He is also sponsored by Mercedes, Garmin, Vitaminwell, SportsMaster treamills among others.

yeah i would be shocked if jakob isn't making 7+ figures. would be almost impossible
yeah, 4 mil is the most common figure i’ve seen thrown around.
i’ve heard hunter signed a 650k contract out of hs a few years back. based off of what adidas pays, i except that to be true.
also, anyone know how much the top sprinters pull? probably much more than the distance runners right? i have to imagine guys like norman, lyles, benjamin, holloway, and maybe even knighton are making 7 figures or something close to it in base pay and sponsorships.
According to Norwegian tax authorities, Jingi (Jakob Ingebrigtsen) made ca 400k USD (3.8 mn NOK) in 2021 and 200k in 2020. His brothers Hingi and Fingi made 150k USD or so in 2021.
For "normal people" - people who live and make their income in Norway by legal means - these numbers are usually accurate. But the family could have income streams not registered here, e.g. if some income goes to a corporation that they possess.
