"Masters world record" doesn't make any sense. It's either the fastest time anyone has ever run or it isn't.
“Masters” is a designation for any athlete aged 35 or greater.
Nonsense it means you have mastered your event.
For example Bolt may have the 100WR but his technique was terrible. Half the time he was left in the blocks and had to catch up to everyone. Never mastered it.

"Master" should not be used because, according to Stanford University, "Historically, masters enslaved people, didn't consider them human and didn't allow them to express free will, so this term should generally be avoided."
Master (adj) should be replaced with "primary" or "main"
Master (v) should be replaced with "become adept in"

Regardless, point is that it's not a world record if it isn't the fastest performance ever. It doesn't make sense to call a performance a "masters world record."

That's a great time. Didn't realize she is over 40. Her time would be very good for someone even half her age. She has always been a great athlete.
I actually thought she should be faster, I was disappointed in her time. She's run 7.72 and she's been training consistently (albeit for a variety of sports including Winter Olympics). Also shoes now are faster.
If she doesn't get this under 8.00 soon then it's a big let down.
Except that these records are kept, and people do run "the fastest time for a woman >39". By your logic there also wouldn't be world records for men and women separately?
Do you call the NCAA 1500m record "the NCAA world record" because it's the fastest time in the world by an NCAA runner?

You could see a definite difference in her “snap”, but still incredibly good!
The post-race interview at the end just reminded me how funny and charismatic a personality she is...whatever her weird views off the track may be, she's still a lot of fun to watch at meets. Not to mention, of course, an extraordinary all-around athlete.
Absolutely stupendous job on the clickbait above the MB notification of Lolo in a pic. Click on it and barely mentions her and shows.........nothing. Not one pic.
