The great philosopher Yogi Berra once said “Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded.”
Nobody goes out on New Years Eve anymore. Too crowded.

Who calls New Year's Eve NYE?
Imagine not going out NYE.
However many times you try and tell yourself it's rubbish. The truth is you just haven't really got any friends and you're boring.
That guy, I'd love to possess his turn of phrase.
In Switzerland, it’s quite a big thing. Most people get together with friends and family We always head off to the mountains with 4 or 5 other families, lots of kids. We usually rent a group house or get a bunch of rooms in a group hotel in a ski resort. Lots of drinking, eating, fireworks for a few days. One of the funnest times of the year. Covid nixed it 20-21, but otherwise, business as usual.

That sounds nice. A more low key version but still fun.
