He slaughtered 4 innocent people, please libs, tell me why he doesn't deserve the death penalty, I thought you'all are for equality?
Well, we could start with this; a person has been arrested. You have already jumped to the conclusion that he is guilty.
A society where people, and in this case you specifically, jump to conclusions about whether someone is guilty or not guilty before evidence is even presented in a trial, is a society that cannot responsibly mete out justice in such a way.
Thus the hundreds of people who have been convicted and sentenced to death, only to be released later because humans got it wrong.
True. Prior to Danny Rolling being arrested for the Gainseville murders years ago, Edward Humphrey was considered a suspect for quite a while including after Rolling was arrested.

So what? The system exonerated him..
Do you really believe that "the system" has exonerated 100% of the wrongfully convicted inmates before any of them were put to death? Do you believe that the system has released hundreds of innocent people but never executed a single innocent person?
And my point stands anyway. The poster I was reply to had already declared that this man "slaughtered four innocent people," after the poster has not reviewed a shred of evidence.
There is no way to tell how many of the [dpic get="total_number_of_executions"] people executed since 1976 may also have been innocent. It is now broadly accepted that the judicial review provided to death-penalty cases in th...
I repeat, name one person in the US who was executed and later found to be innocent?

Of course, this depends on what "found" means. We don't hold trials for dead people, so I'm not sure how you expect anyone to be found innocent. Not to mention that our system of law never finds anyone to be innocent anyway. People are found guilty or not guilty.
Cameron Todd Willingham would be another. And Ruben Cantu. David Wayne Spence. Jesse Tefaro. Thomas and Meeks Griffin.
This thread is already off the rails in less than 2 pages. Stay on topic about the arrest of the suspect and perhaps wait until the press conference to run the yappers.

Good post.
Anyone who wants to start a Death Penalty Debate thread should go do that.
They were looking for a white Hyundai, it sounds like the vehicle was the clue which broke the case.
Kinda surprised it took this long. He drove the car with him to PA, so presumably it's registered to him. Nobody at his Uni in the grad program knew he drove a white Elantra and just disappeared for 3 months? None of his family? Sus.
I think the biggest thing people are interested in is the motive. Could a random encounter lead to this type of incident? It seems unlikely. So perhaps there was some previous familiarity between the suspect and member(s) of the household.
The evidence linking to this suspect will also be interesting. I wonder what the police found and the timeline for tying it together.

It really is a ridiculous position that runnerboy70 is taking here.
Among other things - generally, after someone is executed, not a whole lot of additional attention, investigation, . . . "system" efforts are put into trying to prove their innocence.

All speculation by left wing groups (Innocence Project) who typically favor criminals over victims...No over whelming evidence of innocence...
