Heard this statistic on the radio the other day. Shocking if true. Just thought it was interesting. Maybe not true now due to fluctuations...
Who cares. They are mutually exclusive events. Those guys aren't rich because they made everyone else poor.
Unfortunately, around half the country (and you can guess which half) thinks they did. They think every dollar in Elon Musk's bank account is a dollar that was somehow unfairly displaced from the bank accounts of the "bottom 50%."

A meaningless and probably inaccurate statement. Wealth here is qualified by"valued at..." which is mostly vaporware. Only hard assets and liquid cash should count.
The tax structure needs to be changed to incentivize paying workers more than giving executives stock. Bonuses to execs do not correlate with corporate success.
Sure. If you love inflation.
The three richest men do more to stop inflation than anything else by blackholing dollars. It would be awesome if every so often their bank accounts were irrecoverably purged to take the money out of circulation permanently.
If every worker was suddenly making $200k and Elon made a substantially smaller wage, people would stop working, prices would skyrocket. Your $200k would suddenly be the new $38k. The economy needs rich people as much as regular Joe's.
More than likely, if you took away the wealth of the top three and randomly gave it to the bottom 50% in million dollar increments, most of the recipients would be broke by the time the top three rebuilt their wealth.
Such BS. Leftists want to focus on the OUTPUT without consideration of INPUT. If you really want to see disparity, see what those with the most wealth did to earn and keep that wealth.
Poverty and wealth are nothing more than byproducts of life choices.

The above statements are meaningless regardless of one’s politics because there is only one event here, not two. The top three outriching the bottom half is the exact same event as the bottom half being poorer than the top three.
Even if it's a 'meaningless statistic' it still is an interesting concept and sparks thought and discussion. I wouldn't have thought it would've been anywhere near the bottom 50%, more like.. I don't know, 20-30%. Of course it's a very simplified statistic but it's still interesting.

If people stopped working, how would they be making $200k?
