Is it official that Eric Avila and Charlie Grice joined Very Nice TC / are coached by Warhurst? That’s shaping up to be a pretty good group there with them + Flanagan, Ferlic, Hobbs and Beadlescomb. nice to see some Midwest based elites having success
Hobbs is looking fit. At the very least, he’s in better shape than last year. Running 39-40s 300s at the end of a nearly 8 mile workout is good stuff. Would love to see him challenging for a US title this year.
its so crazy that if Hobbs PR's by just two seconds this year he'll be running 3:32's. When Jager ran 3:32 people went bananas. He's already so far down into the 3:30's at age 19
Crazy good workout. Much longer workout than Grice. Then faster 200s! VS a 3:30 guy. Kessler maybe going 3:29 this year?!?
All of you slow twitch people are clueless. None of these times are impressive.
The tempo work is easy, a glorified warmup that won't tire them even a little bit for the other reps.
A 4:08/1:50 guy can easily do this workout. The 1ks were between 8:21 3k and 8:03 3k, so around 5k pace for them.
The 300s times are nothing special, but I question their accuracy. The coach calls out 29 then they run 41.7? Did it look like they were running a 12.x last 100m? The next one the coach calls out 27.8 and their time was 40.8, so they significantly negative split the last 100m? Sure didn't look like it.

A 4:08 guy can’t run 3:34 like Hobbs can. I guess your too slow-twitch to do that

My point is this workout doesn't indicate that Hobbs can run 3:32. Everyone is INSANE for saying Hobbs is going to challenge the best runners in the nation based on this workout.
He will eventually challenge the top runners because he's extremely talented, but let's not pretend this workout is proof of anything. He'll probably run around 7:45 3k this indoors, but 2 collegiate athletes have already run 7:44 this year so you all need to calm down.
