I've wheeled most of the tracks that I've run on. Most of them were within 3 feet of being spot on, a few were between 3 ft to 5 ft off (short or long), and one of them was off by about 10 ft.
I've calibrated my wheel against a 100' line measured with a 100' certified steel tape. Did it when the temperature was 72 degrees F, so maybe some of the tracks were off due to temperature expansion or contraction of the wheel. I try to keep the wheel 1 foot out from the track curb, or 1 foot out from where the infield grass or dirt is if there is no curb.
One thing I've found out is that Google Earth measurements are pretty damn good. You can check them yourself on a known marked segment like 100m or a drag strip with markings.
