It's been on social media nonstop for weeks, at least, and the Coffee Club guys have been talking about it (and talking some good-natured smack) for at least a couple months. And you must be up on social media if you're here.
Who is the ‘coffee club’? I thought LRC was ‘social media’. That, and the occasional YouTube or Reddit thread seems pretty much enough.
Sound is definitely filling a void that USATF fails to fill. Guess Max is too busy finding ways to spend his big money instead of creating interesting competition opportunities for US elite and sub elites

As long as it's a better avenue. Usatf has an official Club Nationals the very next week. It's generally a weak field for the top elites, but why? Is it $$$? If so, I do blame Max3.8 Siegel.

It's nine days before the San Francisco race and SF is the better venue. Golden Gate Park is an excellent location for cross country.

I don't do anything but LRC so maybe if they had as many threads here as they did on Jesuit , covid , Jamin or Greg I would have seen something about the race.

Sure, maybe. The point I failed to make is that I found out about it well over a month ago because I don't limit myself to LRC, which is a spotty running media site, at best. I get a couple of running newsletters in email (nothing from LRC) and listen to a few running podcasts (again, not LRC). I don't consider myself a major consumer of running media, I guess I was just one of the lucky ones.
I've also known about the event for a while but had to search around for details on the races. It should not be that hard to find the info for what is supposed to be a pretty big race. I am all for things outside of USATF as they are one of the most corrupt organizations out there.
Ultimately I wish more people knew about the event so the sport could survive.
