This. There's no real challenge here except what's been invented in the responses. OP literally answers itself. What, like 25 y.o. nurse chick is going to see all those swooshes flash by, then wait until later to look up the results to get his name, then search out his SM account and slide into his DMs? I know that's the delusional LRC fantasy, but come on. Runner 2 not only has the means but most importantly makes the opportunity to meet someone like her at the race and then ask her to brunch or HH on Friday before taking her home for hot coitus.

Neither one talked to the girl at all. The first one finished early and went home.

The second guy hung around and chatted with everyone except the hot girl he was attracted to because he was anxious. He did stand 20 feet away and stare at her for a bit trying to work up the nerve to talk to her but after 10 minutes of that it became weird and he just left.

Homegirl looks after other people’s well-being for a living as a nurse. It’s doubtful she wants to go with runner #1 whom she would have to nurture into functionally healthy adulthood when she gets home after work each day. Especially on all those occasions he would go home devastated after bad workouts and races.

Our lovely nurse gets her turkey stuffed over the holiday weekend by a muscular 6' 2", 195 pound Chad from out-of-town. He works in finance, does Crossfit, only does this Turkey Trot because it is a family tradition, and runs in Gymshark apparel.
