The only reason GM is saying that is because they are a direct competitor to Tesla and trying to paint him in a bad light.
Sure.
GM sold 6.3 million cars in 2021. Tesla sold 936,222 cars in 2021.
And yet Tesla is worth a multiple of times Ford/GM combined,..... closing to double digits last time i checked. The truth is Musk beat the global woke army at his own game.... Good times
Exactly. They just released the electric Denali and made a big deal about it. Not coincidence. Capitalism at work. As a right winter I'm happy about it. Competition!!
A triple motor Tesla cyber truck fully loaded is at 70k and the Denali is 105k. What is GM thinking...?
GM is thinking their trucks won’t sit on the lot for more than a day with current demand in their favor.

Gasoline tax revenues will drop with EVs. Road Impact Fees on EVs will replace. The Road Impact Fees will be $25,000/yr for tractor trailers, buses, Class C RVs, Box Trucks, Amazon Vans. $10,000/yr for GM Denali, Ford F150. $2500 for Toyota 4 Runners. Ouch!
We see what happens to 'uncensored' sites: they are invariably overrun by right-wing straight white males who immediately direct slurs, violent rhetoric and general toxic and hateful language to anybody who doesn't share their properties.
People are pushed away, brands don't want to associate with the platform and it eventually runs out of money. No amount of lying about "we just want a free-speech platform so we can have healthy debate™" changes this sequence of events. There's a reason every single major platform has a similar standard of discourse and no right-wing social media platform has come anywhere close to being popular: giving conservatives free reign always ends up making the website an unmarketable sh*tshow, even to most other conservatives.

I copied and pasted the two paragraphs referenced in the link for those too lazy to click on it. For those saying Twitter has seen an influx of new users please send a link with that evidence.
InfoGalactic, the “planetary knowledge core” launched as a rightwing alternative to Wikipedia in 2016, gets about 300,000 visits a month, compared to more than 5 billion for Wikipedia. Voat, which launched in 2014 and positioned itself as a censorship-free social news aggregator akin to Reddit, shut down at the end of 2020. Hatreon, GoyFunder and Wesearchr, crowdfunding platforms that each sought to displace GoFundMe, have all gone out of business. Rumble, which was founded in 2013 as an alternative to YouTube, made a mere $7 million in ad revenue in the first nine months of 2021; YouTube made $9 billion in just one quarter. Parler and Gab, the two biggest hubs for people who have gotten kicked off the mainstream social networks for hate speech, haven’t exactly knocked Twitter or Facebook off their pedestals. On Parler, for example, Mark Levin, a far-right talk radio host who revels in conspiracy theories about the election, claims that Democrats hate America and hate the police, and calls on his audience to “crush” them, is a big fish in a small pond with 5 million followers. For comparison, Joe Biden gained 5 million Twitter followers in just the first 24 hours after he was sworn in as president. And getting onto these platforms isn’t that easy. Parler, which is has been propped up by investments from Rebekah Mercer, a conservative donor who is a close ally of Steve Bannon, was removed for a while from the Google and Apple app stores after the Capitol riot last January. Gab was never even accepted onto those two key platforms for mobile app users.
Liberal lefties are getting afraid and triggered that the truth they try to censor and hide will be exposed. We must stand up to these modern day oppressors on the left who selfishly attempt to control the people for their own personal benefit under a guise of collective success.

Musk does a pretty good job painting himself in a bad light. But specific to Twitter, he is going to lose millions of dollars without advertising. And if he tosses out content moderation, big brands will avoid advertising on Twitter to avoid being associated with hate speech. My law firm has clients that already are considering pulling their ads or have started the process of disassociating with Twitter.
can the thread starter cite the evidence that "extremist views" of Musk was the reason?
I don’t know what the OP meant by “Extremist” but the word “views” wasn’t written. You added it and put quotes around it for some reason.
I think GM pulled advertising as he is also CEO of a direct GM competitor.
We will see if other major companies pull ads and possibly cite him as extreme. He certainly isn’t main stream. This isn’t a car company where consumers will buy the car if they like the car. It’s a media company that relies on corporations spending their marketing budget and not being main stream could hurt revenue.
My question is, how long until our corrupt federal government bails out GM again? They are a terribly run auto company with inferior product and a massive pension liability weighing it down. As a tax payer, I can't wait for the 2nd time in my lifetime that we have to bailout this company with my money.
