Most people its worse. I was reading in WSJ today how with inflation more people are choosing to live with roommates now. Has anyone's quality of life actually improved?
Are your kids better off from 2 years of democrat induced lockdowns? Do you feel like their math skills are better or worse as a result? Are they more prepared for college?
Do you feel like it's easier to retire today vs 2 years ago?
Do you feel safer from crime in your location than 2 years ago?
These are all questions voters will be asking themselves in 2 weeks. I'll let you determine what that means for Democrats.
1) ALL of what you mention there are factors that affect Presidential elections, not midterms.
2) BOTH parties (when not in power) get self-righteous leading up to mid-term elections, but a change of power in midterms is not a referendum against the party in power due to anything it did.
3) Midterms typically go against the party in power for two main reasons...1) A certain percentage of voters ALWAYS vote against the party in power; and, 2) voters who side with the party in power are satisfied with the most recent Presidential election and aren't as motivated to vote as their pissed-off opponents.
To answer some of your questions though (even though they don't affect the election in 2 weeks AT ALL):
1) My life is better than it was 2 years ago. 2 years ago we had an unemployment rate that was almost 11%. This unemployment rate negatively affected people I love and care about...all of them negatively affected now have jobs. We were in lockdowns in many states (INCLUDING MY STATE WITH A REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR), and we were very unsure how COVID was going to progress. Your idea that lockdowns were a Democrat thing is ridiculous.
2) My quality of life has improved, because I am now retired. I was still working 2 years ago.
3) Kids in high school and below have definitely not benefitted from the COVID lockdowns which were necessary and affected by both Democrats and Republicans. This proves the importance of K-12 education.
4) Inflation that we have would have been here no matter who was elected, and the inflation we have has ZERO to do with Biden...it's a global situation caused by pent-up demand for goods and services as a result of the pandemic which caused HUGE spending in 2021.
Republicans will take the House.
Democrats are favored to keep the Senate.
Anything less than Republicans taking the House AND the Senate is a win for Democrats.
