1. Can you summarize most of it? I don't have time to watch the full 28 minute video and especially don't feel like watching all 8 of their paid promotions
2. I will admit that that is impressive, but if you're not doing anything else it's not as good as it sounds - though it is noteworthy. My teammates and I rented a house at altitude for a summer (the same one in fact - before freshman year) and would order a lot of food in, but we'd probably cook most meals. But they'd be typically be healthy 'enough' - like bacon and eggs with potatoes, as a sample breakfast. How do they have the house though? Are they splitting it with like 10 other people or is it Nico's?
PS. Being that this is Letsrun, I know people will say I'm a moran since we weren't motivated enough to cook our own food and didn't attend Stanford. Our team wasn't close to as good, but the academics and prestige were almost identical - and on the east coast where we were, this gap was non-existent
They rented an AirBNB in Flagstaff amongst six guys (mostly recent Newbury Park alums). It seems like a 4 bedroom house, with two guys double bunking and two guys having their own rooms. It's a "day in the life" style video, so they just took us through their whole day. They didn't account for every single minute, but the schedule was roughly:
7:00am Wake up and eat a quick breakfast
8:00 All six guys are out the door (apparently getting out by 8 is a strict rule/game for them) and they get in the car to drive to their run spot.
8:30ish Run 7 miles easy with some other guys in the area.
10ish to 12ish Go home and eat lunch. Season a few racks of ribs and put them in the oven.
12ish to 3ish Go to the NAU gym and play around at the indoor pool. Play a game of soccer on a nearby field.
3ish to dinnertime Hang out, watch USAs on TV, cut vegetables and potatoes, grill the ribs and veggies.
All the guys eat dinner together in the back yard, and then they head to an ice cream place. They get back home around 10:30 and go to bed.
Honestly, it sounds like a pretty idyllic way to spend a summer with your friends. I'm not saying that they're the only 18 year-olds on the planet who can manage that kind of stuff, but the kitchen and common areas were remarkably clean for having six guys living there. Even the bedrooms (they gave a house tour at one point) were impressively tidy. Again, it's not like we need to throw a parade for them, but for kids who haven't even gone away to college yet they seem to have quite a good handle on "life skills" and self-management compared to a lot of college kids (or hell, even college graduates in their first "real" apartments) that I've known. The video just gave the overall impression of kids who are very capable and self-managing, for lack of better words, while still having fun and acting like teens. That struck me as a nice way for young people to be living, in comparison to people on here who like to snark at them from behind computers.
