Nike is an evil company and I have stopped buying anything they make.
Between the child labor, bribery scandal in brazil, all of the dopers they employ, and the taxic culture in their running groups there is no redeeming quality in that garbage company.
The fact they have such an influence over professional sport like running shows how evil they are. Is there a single company in the NFL, NBA, EPL, or any other sport with that much power? No. That shows not only their evilness but the incompetence of usatf.
The whole child labor thing wasn’t enough for you, huh?
Wake up.
Most all athletic shoe companies use the same production facilities and therefore should be subject to the same scrutiny.
Nike being the largest sporting goods company in the world is in focus but don’t be so uninformed.
On the political slant of this post. Who cares, people have different points of view and have a right to support them. Goes both ways and if there was a third political party choice in America it would go three ways.
What party you affiliate with in your voting does not make you ethical or unethical. For the love of God, the fact that people deem themselves ethical for which way they cast their vote is mind blowing to me. I know people on both sides that are crappy people. There are valid reasons to vote for either party. Why do democrats villainize people who vote Republican or support the Republican party?
It is very childish to condemn people for voting differently from you. Respect others' opinions on politics. Both sides have valid points, and both sides have some points that leave people asking many questions.
Will be interesting to see if any Nike sponsored athletes will speak up against this or leave.
Steph Curry didn't leave Under Armour, although he made a snide remark about its CEO. A lesser known athlete's contact could have been terminated, but Under Armour could not afford to lose Steph.
Phil knight is one of the most inspirational entrepreneurs of our time. He built Nike. He indirectly influenced this site for his love of running and massive production of running shoes.
but that original ethos of Nike changed when they hired and allowed an activist ad agency to weaponize their brand, Wieden and Kennedy. In 2017 they put out an ad about Kolin kaperdick. From then until now Nike shifted to one of the most democrat leftist corporations on the planet.
complete garbage. From then until now, I stopped giving them money.
i applaud Phil for standing up for what’s right.
Oh, good grief. You really don't get it, do you. You think Phil Knight was ardently opposed to Nike's Kaepernick support? That he hired a marketing company to come in and make unilateral decisions about the direction of the company that he disagreed with? It was a marketing ploy! They did it to make money. It's the same reason he's giving money to Republicans. He's not standing up for what's right, he's doing what he thinks will make him more money. No need to worry about consequences for worker exploitation, outsourcing, tax evasion, or price gouging when Republicans are in charge!

Bullet proof supports cheater/abuser Salazar. He is quite confused on morality.
Big companies love pushing woke social issues because it distracts the Democrats from actually pushing socialism and damaging the economy. They want a pro-business Republican party and a woke neoliberal Democratic party. That way nobody comes after them.
So, Knight is giving major money to both the republican and the independent candidate, hoping that the independent will siphon enough votes from the democrat that the republican will win. I don’t have a problem with people supporting the candidate of their choice, but to me Knight’s support of the third party candidate is cynical and anti-democratic. Then again, money can do that to people.
