The WMM cut prize money for “wheelchair equity” even though most winning runners are African (black) which, according to the woke left, is inequitable and therefore racist because of the disparate impact theory.
Woke has become a throw-away term. Basically it means I don't like it. But I can't give a reasoned argument why. So I will just call it woke and no further explanation is required.
No, I know exactly what wokism is: a belief that gender, race, and sexual preference are the only defining characteristics of humanity, that these characteristics decide whether you are the oppressor or the oppressed, and whether you are entitled to special privilege, or to be thrown onto the dung heap of history.

speaking of oppressor......aren't you the guy that wants cops to break the law and violate people's rights in order to keep the 'undesirables' in line and out of your neighborhood?
I think Rojo's comments mostly reflect his and other's residual resentment of the Chicago's marathon's attempt to signal inclusiveness by focusing too much broadcast time on the wheelchair race.
And decreasing the WMM prize money for runners in order to equalize it for wheelchair athletes. It's no longer a serious running competition.

The footbridge was an iconic part of the Cape Town Marathon route so sad it had to be eliminated as a result of adding the wheelchair racers
What's the deal with the footbridge? What kind of bridge is it and why did it need to be eliminated for wheelchair racers? Is it too steep or something?
Again, why did they cut out the bridge for wheelchairs?

Wheelchair races at major marathons have been around for decades and absolutely are not a product of the current “woke” hysteria, IMO.
Yes. But they should start before the marathon and not get in the way of the runners. This sport is more akin to cycling than running.
As for spectating, the sports should have separate broadcasts/streams that don't interfere with each other. If I want to watch a wheelchair race, I'd find it super annoying that I have to tune in to a running, a sport I care little about and most of the coverage is of the running, not the event I want to watch! I suppose you're going to tell me that they'd never do that because just streaming a wheelchair race wouldn't be at all lucrative - in fact it would lose the streamers a lot of money - the viewership would only be in the hundreds. And that is kind of the point.

Victim culture complaining about another victim culture. How enthralling.
Wheelchairs in running races are woke because they promote inclusivity over competition, which is an inherently Marxist idea. It’s the idea of making everything worse for everyone in order to achieve that utopian equality that lies at bottom of a rainbow with the unicorns and world peace.
That’s not to say that people in wheel chairs shouldn’t be allowed to race each other if they want to, just that changing things for the majority of normal runners to make the disabled feel better is the wrong way to show support.

Yes, the Brojos aren’t wrong when it comes to the prize money and TV time. Out of an already small TV audience, a much smaller percentage is watching because of the wheelchair race. Prize money was taken from the runners and redistributed to the wheelchair division.
They should be able to compete and an a living, but I think it should be a separate race. Let’s see how many people watch a wheelchair only marathon. You can have sympathy for wheelchair athletes without taking away from the able bodied runners.
